Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool 'in transfer race' for Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey

Several Premier League clubs are in the hunt for Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey, who is reportedly pushing for a move to England.

Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Everton have all shown an interest in the 22-year-old forward, and are expected to send scouts to watch him in action this weekend.

Leverkusen play Bayern Munich in the DFB Cup final on Saturday, which will bring an end to the German domestic season.

Bailey is seemingly planning for the fixture to be his final bow in a Leverkusen shirt, as Sky Sports report he has teamed up with Colossal Sports Management to help broker a transfer to the Premier League.

Raheem Sterling is represented by the same agents, and Bailey could even end up on the same side as the City star.

Pep Guardiola has been a keen admirer of Bailey for some time, and is in the market for a new winger given Leroy Sane's recent switch to Bayern.

Perhaps more appealing to Guardiola will be the drop in Bailey's price tag as a result of the coronavirus pandemic affecting transfer fees.

The Jamaican international was previously valued at around £60million by Leverkusen, while Bayern failed with a bid close to that figure in 2018.

However the financial impact of the pandemic has pushed his valuation down to somewhere in the region of £30m.

Bailey is under contract until 2023, meaning there is no pressure to sell the winger, but Leverkusen may opt to cash-in to help alleviate any financial strain at the club.

Leverkusen already face a battle to keep hold of their star man Kai Havertz, having failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Chelsea are said to be lining up a huge bid for the 21-year-old but are looking to do business at a fee considerably lower than Leverkusen's demands of £90m.
