Jesse Lingard has reportedly decided to stay put in January - with Newcastle electing to shelve a potential swoop for the Manchester United ace.
Lingard's future is up in the air after his lack of game time at Old Trafford this season.
The 29-year-old, who has just six months remaining on his current deal, returned to Manchester after starring for West Ham in a six-month loan spell last term, where he netted nine goals in 16 games.
Despite that form, and hopes of cementing a first team spot at United this term, Lingard has been left out in the cold for the majority of the season - with reports earlier in the season suggesting that the Old Trafford hierarchy were open to giving Lingard the green light to seek a permanent exit in January.
But it now appears that Lingard is set to stay put until the summer when his contract expires.

According to The Athletic, Lingard has decided to stay and fight for a regular role under new United interim boss Ralf Rangnick in the second half of the season.
Lingard had expected to play a more prominent role at United this term under Rangnick's predecessor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after his stunning form at West Ham last year.
But that failed to materialise after Jadon Sancho 's £73million arrival from Borussia Dortmund and Cristiano Ronaldo 's surprise return to the club.
However, Lingard is prepared to try and convince Rangnick that he can play a part in his plans rather than seek a move elsewhere after the German took the reins at Old Trafford last month.
Although Newcastle are keen on Lingard, the report outlines that they've put a move for Lingard on hold for now. West Ham are also believed to be interested in striking a permanent deal for the star - who was a huge hit with Hammers fans during his short stint in London.
Lingard is also free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with teams from overseas in January as he enters the final few months of his deal at Old Trafford.

But he's set to snub the opportunity to line up a mega-deal with a foreign team to focus on his football for the second half of the season.
The attacker is yet to start a league game this season, although he did start in the Champions League clash with Young Boys under Rangnick earlier this month.
His positive attitude is likely to see him given a fighting chance of featuring under Rangnick.
The United chief hinted that only players who were committed to the club would play under him after Anthony Martial went public with his desire to leave the club.
"If a player does not want to play for Manchester United in the medium or long term, I don't think it makes sense to convince him to change his mind,” said Rangnick earlier this month in the wake of Martial's transfer request.
“Players have to want to play for a big club like Manchester United.”
