Man Utd make Gareth Bale transfer decision after being 'sounded out' by Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has been dealt a further snub after Manchester United reportedly ruled out a summer move.

Bale is free to leave Real Madrid this summer following Zinedine Zidane's return to the Bernabeu.

The Welshman, who turns 30 next month, is contracted until 2022 but the arrival of Eden Hazard will push him further down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

A host of clubs across Europe have been sounded out about signing Bale, including United who have missed out on him twice in the past.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted against discussing a potential deal with Real Madrid, reports ESPN FC.

Solskjaer, who sealed the signing of Bales' international teammate Daniel James on Wednesday, is open to adding another attacker to his ranks.

But Bale no longer fits United's transfer strategy with the club keen to add young talent rather than signing expensive older players.

The developments will come as a hammer blow to Bale in his attempts to secure a move away from Real Madrid.

He would be open to a return to the Premier League but his wages are likely to price him out of a return to Tottenham while Chelsea's transfer ban will end any interest.

PSG and Bayern Munich have both been credited with an interest in recent times.

Solskjaer is said to have other targets in mind with Ligue 1 strikers Nicolas Pepe and Moussa Dembele on their radar.

Mirror Football revealed United are keeping tabs on Lille's Pepe and former Celtic hitman Dembele, who is now at Lyon.

Bouremouth winger Ryan Fraser is believed to be another option for United, although Arsenal are also keen on the Scotland international.
