Man Utd 'make contact' over Moussa Dembele transfer as Arsenal monitor Lyon striker

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stepped up his pursuit of Moussa Dembele - and has made Lyon aware of his interest.

Mirror Football revealed last month that the Premier League club were keeping tabs on the striker, who arrived at Lyon from Celtic last summer.

United are desperate to improve their striking options this summer and 22-year-old Dembele has been hugely impressive in France this season.

Dembele has scored 20 goals in all competitions and his work rate and prolific scoring record for the minutes played this season has caught the eye of scouts.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims Man Utd can still lure world's best after agent contact

And L'Equipe have claimed that United chiefs have made contact with the French giants over the possibility of signing the striker this summer.

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku’s future could be uncertain and United may be looking to improve their forward line this summer.

Lyon are aware of strong interest from the Premier League and know they will face a battle to keep their French star.

Premier League predictions: Robbie Savage looks ahead to Newcastle vs Liverpool

The Old Trafford giants aren’t the only top-flight club keen on bringing him to the Premier League next season.

Arsenal are also keeping a close eye with manager Unai Emery a long-term admirer and they made enquiries before he moved to Lyon last summer.

It’s also claimed that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have also approached Lyon, and remain interested in the talented hitman.
