Man Utd legends squad confirmed ahead of Bayern Munich treble reunion match

Both squads have been confirmed for Sunday's huge legends match between Manchester United and Bayern Munich at Old Trafford (3pom).

The Red Devils will mark the 20th anniversary of their historic treble on the same date they beat Bayern Munich 2-1 on a dramatic Nou Camp night.

The game is raising funds for the Manchester United Foundation, working with young people across the local area, and will see star names from the treble-winning squad back on the pitch together once again.

Current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been confirmed as he looks to show his own players how its done by repeating his Champions League final heroics from two decades ago.

Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be back in the dugout, with Steve McClaren as assistant manager and Bryan Robson operating as head coach.

The likes of Peter Schmeichel, Denis Irwin, Jaap Staam, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke will also play - as well as the famed Class of 92.

David Beckham, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes will all roll back the years as they aim to down their German counterparts, who are also set to bring in some big names.

Lothar Matthaus, Roy Makaay and Luca Toni will line up as well as former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel and ex-Manchester City star Martin Demichelis.

But the presence of Solskjaer on the field is sure to gain plenty of interest - and current backup goalkeeper Lee Grant revealed the boss has shown in training he still has his clinical edge in front of goal.

“It was the first time I managed to get a glimpse of whether he still had it or not,” Grant told United's official website .

“We had a shooting session and I was doing some one-on-one work with Romelu [Lukaku] and Paul [Pogba]. The manager came over and I could see he was limbering up in the corner of my eye.

“He got involved and he was still pretty deadly, I have to be honest. He had some bad luck because he kept hitting the same post in the same spot. But the touch was there and the instinct was still there. He is very, very clinical still. He did well and I am looking forward to seeing that game on Sunday.”
