Sergio Romero faces an uncertain future at Manchester United following the collapse of his move away from Old Trafford.
The out-of-favour goalkeeper was in talks to join newly-formed MLS side Inter Miami, a transfer which would've ended his nightmare stay at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Argentine's move to the MLS, however, has failed to come to fruition.
Romero, 33, now faces the unwanted prospect of staying at Old Trafford until January at the very least.
Given the fact the Louis van Gaal's signing is now fourth in the pecking order, United could choose to end his hell by agreeing to mutually terminate his contract.
However, according to The Daily Mail, the veteran goalkeeper - who pockets a cool £100,000 a week - 'is in no mood to do United any favours'.
The collapse of his move to the MLS is the second time Romero has had a potential exit from Old Trafford fail to materialise.
Everton were on course to sign the stopper before United demanded a fee for his services.
Romero has remained silent on his current predicament, but the same can't be said for his wife Eliana Guercio - who tore into the Red Devils on Instagram after her husband's move to Goodison Park collapsed.
"Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him," a furious Guercio wrote. "He helped the team reach 4 finals/semifinals and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all.
“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!!”
Romero's Manchester United team-mates will be back in action on Sunday evening, welcoming their top-four rivals Arsenal to Old Trafford.
