Man Utd issued warning over Odion Ighalo's future as other elite clubs weigh up move

Manchester United have been told Odion Ighalo is being lined up by a number of top European clubs by football agent and former Nigeria player Abdul Sule.

Ighalo surprisingly joined the Red Devils on loan from Chinese side Shanghai Shehua in January, and so far he has taken his chance with his boyhood club, scoring four times since his move.

United are yet to decide whether or not to bring in the player permanently, but speaking to Goal Sule said the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona could be interested in Ighalo if United don't move quickly.

"I see Odion Ighalo earning a big-money move from top European teams when his loan expires at Manchester United," Sule said.

"I don't think Man United are keen on retaining him because they seem not to value him enough to put hand him a regular place. He also may not be wanted again when Marcus Rashford is fit.

“I will not advise him to return to China now despite the attractive offer but would urge him to stay in Europe.

“I won't be surprised if Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona come for him.

“He has proven that he's got a lot to offer at the highest level within his short stay at Man United and he can attract big brands and earn more money, playing in any of the top teams in England.

“He can always still return to China later in his career but right now, I think he has what it takes to shine in Europe.”

Ighalo's preference appears to be to stay at United, which he has described as his "dream" club, but it remains to be seen whether he is in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's long-term plans.

Shanghai are thought to be desperate to keep him in China, and have offered him an eye-watering £400k-a-week new deal.
