Man Utd international joins Charlton Athletic on loan after Ryan Giggs predicts big future

Manchester United and Wales midfielder Dylan Levitt has joined Charlton Athletic on a one-year loan deal.

The 19-year-old will spend the 2020/21 season with Lee Bowyer's Addicks as he seeks more first-team action to continue his development.

Only last week, Wales boss Ryan Giggs gave Levitt his full Wales debut last week - with the teenager playing the full 90 minutes in his country's 1-0 win in Finland.

Levitt is also thought of highly at Old Trafford, with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having handed him his first team bow against Astana in the Europa League last year.

Levitt was handed his first senior call up back in May 2019 for Wales' Euro 2020 qualifiers against Croatia and Hungary.

Capable of playing in both deep and advanced midfield roles, Giggs has been full of praise for Levitt.

"When Dylan was in the [Euro] squad, we had must-win games so I couldn’t really throw him in and put him in that pressure cooker,” Giggs told United's official website.

"But, in training, he’s one of the best. He’s my kind of player – a good character, quiet but tough, and he’s one that I’ll be taking a big look at over the next year or so.

"I want him to develop and if he does and, if he plays more games, then he’ll definitely be in the reckoning. He’s a really intelligent player with a good range of passing and he stands out in training in every session."
