Man Utd insider details Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's demeanor in changing room after West Ham

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly opted against giving his Manchester United players the hairdryer treatment following defeat by West Ham.

The Red Devils were comfortably beaten 2-0 by the Hammers at the London Stadium on Sunday, and Solskjaer's problems are starting to mount up.

United lacked creativity and have been struggling to score goals - a problem that is set to get worse after Marcus Rashford was forced off with an injury.

After the match Solskjaer returned to the away changing room to address his players.

It is a common practise for managers under such pressure to give a squad a piece of their mind following such a flat performance.

But the Red Devils boss opted against doing this. Instead, the Norwegian tried to stay calm.

Solskjaer is aware that his Manchester United team are a work in process, and he feels that berating them would do more harm than good - especially as they are injury-ravaged.

A source confirmed this to the Daily Mail, saying: "He told the players a few home truths afterwards, but there were no b******ings".

Despite his reported calm manner in the changing room, Roy Keane, who played alongside Solskjaer at Manchester United, reckons he would have been livid inside.

"Listen, I've known Ole a long time, one of the nicest lads you'll ever meet, and I can tell just by his eyes he's fuming," said Keane on Sky Sports.

"I think he's disgusted. Like any manager he's going to come out and try and defend his team, but he talks about characters and leaders: the proof is in the pudding.

"Managers can back their players all they want, but it's what they do on the pitch when the referee blows that whistle and we didn't see that today."
