Man Utd injury update: Christian Eriksen, Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka return dates and latest news

Manchester United now face a fight to qualify for the Champions League.

Sunday’s loss to top four rivals Newcastle puts the pressure on Wednesday night’s trip to Brentford, with Erik ten Hag’s side currently sat in fifth.

While United boast two games in hand on fourth-placed Tottenham, few would doubt they have struggled since winning the Carabao Cup in February.

Ten Hag’s team have not scored a Premier League goal since and have little margin for error with the race for Champions League qualification so tight.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest on Manchester United injuries.

Christian Eriksen

Ten Hag has now confirmed the Dane is closing in on a return. Eriksen has been injured since picking up an ankle problem in January but is now back in team training.

Potential return date: Saturday April 8 vs Everton

Alejandro Garnacho

The winger has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford but suffered an ankle problem against Southampton.

Ten Hag, however, is confident the Argentine will play again this season.

Potential return date: April/May 2023

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka missed the loss at Newcastle through illness but is expected back at Brentford.

Potential return date: Wednesday 5 April vs Brentford

Tom Heaton

Heaton was recently ruled out for a number of weeks with an ankle injury.

Potential return date: May 2023

Donny van de Beek

The Dutchman is not expected to play again this season after suffering a long-term knee injury.
