Paul Pogba looks set to miss Manchester United’s FA Cup third round tie with Reading after struggling to recover from Jonjo Shelvey’s horror challenge on Wednesday.
The Frenchman was incensed by the Newcastle midfielder’s studs up challenge in United’s 2-0 win against Newcastle.
He played on at St James’ Park – but will be assessed by doctors ahead of Saturday’s lunchtime kick off.
Solskjaer is aiming to make it five straight wins as United’s interim manager and will hand starts to Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez for the first time under him.
But Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are injured, while Eric Bailly is suspended.
“There’ll definitely be a few changes,” said Solksjaer. “Some will get a chance and some of them are itching now to play.
“We’ll get Lukaku and Sanchez a start - that’s important for them because they need more game time.
“I’m not sure if Paul’s going to be ready. He got a knock against Newcastle and if (Marouane) Fellaini gets through the session today it’s more or less a full squad.”
Solskjaer can turn his attention to the Cup after significantly improving United’s chances of making the top four with 12 points over Christmas.
He added: “We’re about wining trophies and the FA Cup final is such a fantastic one to play in. I played in 1999 at Wembley and after having watched so many FA Cup finals as a kid, to walk from the dressing room to the pitch was fantastic.
“Whatever competition you’re in you want to win. That’s more or less what you expect from a club like this and players we’ve got.”
On his perfect start, Solskjaer added: “You can’t do it better, but obviously when you come in you expect to win games.
“When you win four you expect to win the next one as well. I don’t look at these games and think we can’t win that – I think we can win every single game.”
