Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez are all in contention to return for Manchester United against Bournemouth on Sunday.
All three are back in training and interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make a final decision after training over the next two days.
Solskjaer confirmed Sanchez, who has not played since his substitute appearance against Crystal Palace in November, will be "probably definitely involved" in the match at Newcastle three days later.
After the win over Huddersfield on Boxing Day, the interim boss said: "We'll improve as time goes on and I was just thinking, and I said to the staff as well towards the end, when you go 2-0 up, maybe 3-0 up, and you think 'next week we'll have (Alexis) Sanchez, (Anthony) Martial back, you've got (Romelu) Lukaku to put on'.
"Because I think maybe we could have really finished them off then."
Chris Smalling faces a further fortnight on the sidelines with a foot complaint, but Scott McTominay, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia are closing in on a return.
