Man Utd 'in three-way battle' for summer target Tanguy Ndombele

Manchester United face a battle with two European rivals in their pursuit of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

The combative star is top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s shopping list as the United manager looks to bolster his ranks ahead of next season.

Having opted to stay put until the summer, a serious transfer war is expected to break out to try and land Ndombele, who is touted to command a huge fee close to £90m.

And L’Equipe claims that Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are the other two clubs considering a summer move for the highly-rated player.

The French newspaper goes on the detail some weaknesses in Ndombele’s game, and suggests he could remain at Lyon beyond this season.

Recent comments by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, however, suggest United could well miss out on their summer target.

Asked if he would ever sell a player to PSG by Le Revenu, Aulas specifically singled out Ndombele, perhaps suggesting there may be some truth to rumours of their interest.

"Without any problem. I would be proud even." Aulas said.

"If PSG want to buy Tanguy N’Dombele, there is no problem.

"There is no bad blood with the PSG board. Nasser Al Khelaifi is a loyal and brilliant man who I admire.”

Lyon clearly hold Ndombele in high regard and would not begrudge him the chance to further his career at a European giant as long as he lands them a big transfer fee in the process.

His manager, Bruno Genesio, has previously dubbed him the "new Paul Pogba" as he aims to become a global superstar.
