Man Utd 'in talks' over £26m signing of La Liga star

Manchester United are reportedly in talks with left-back Junior Firpo.

According to AS , the Red Devils are looking to sign the Real Betis star, 22, for a fee of up to £26m.

The full-back has struggled with injury during his career but is still regarded as a top prospect, generating interest from Real Madrid and previously being linked with Manchester City and Arsenal .

United are determined to strengthen their defence and add a new left-back, whilst Solskjaer is targeting young and hungry players.

He's also been linked with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace , but having been warned against reckless spending, Firpo could fit the bill at an affordable price.

The Dominican Republic-born player is a Spain Under 21 international who can also play further forward or in a central defensive role if needed.

He's set to feature for Spain in the European Under-21 Championship in June where he will have a perfect opportunity to showcase his talent.

With discussions already underway over a summer move, he could be one for United fans to watch with interest as a potential member of their side in the future.

Solskjaer is keen to get his rebuild underway, with reports they are ready to spend big to try and outbid Barcelona for Matthijs De Ligt.

Solskjaer recently revealed they will be fully prepared and have "no excuses" as he prepares for his first transfer window since taking the job on a permanent basis.

"We’re going to sit down and go through all the plans," Solskjaer said.

“And we’ll be ready when 1 July comes. There will be no excuses."
