Man Utd 'identify four new signings' ahead of January transfer window

Manchester United have identified four new signings to turn their season around ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been feeling the heat in recent weeks, with the Red Devils languishing down in 12th, just two points off the relegation zone.

The Norwegian is in no immediate danger of losing his job, with Solskjaer retaining the support of the Manchester United hierarchy, despite results going against them.

And Solskjaer has reportedly held a series of meetings with top brass at the club to discuss transfers and hone in collectively on who will be signed in January.

According to The Times, United want to sign four new players this winter including a centre-forward to improve the firepower at the club.

United have been lacking in front of goal this season, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood all missing games due to injury.

In the summer, the Red Devils also sold Romelu Lukaku and allowed Alexis Sanchez to leave on loan, but did not replace the duo, which has also left them short.

In recent months Manchester United have been linked with a transfer for 33-year-old Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

Lyon forward Moussa Demebele is another player being considered.
