Man Utd highlights: Match action and goals from stunning Champions League comeback against PSG

Man Utd became the first team in Champions League history to overturn a 2-0 first leg home defeat in the knockout stages.

Marcus Rashford’s stoppage-time penalty, controversially awarded by VAR, completed the stunning comeback that saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side win 3-1 on the night in Paris.

Having seen Romelu Lukaku half their aggregate lead with two minutes on the clock, PSG responded brilliantly to restore their advantage through Juan Bernat.

But a speculative effort from Rashford on the half-hour mark was fumbled by veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and it was Lukaku who reacted quickest to fire home.

At the interval, United lead 2-1. One more away goal would leave PSG requiring two.

PSG dominated proceedings after the restart – with former United forward Angel di Maria seeing a neat finish ruled out for offside. The decision was clear and just, but the one which proved decisive was anything but clear-cut.

Having not had a shot on goal in the 60 minutes that followed Lukaku’s second, Diogo Dalot let rip from outside the box and the ball cannoned off Presnel Kimpembe and out for what appeared to be a corner.

But referee Damir Skomina looked at the incident on a monitor, and VAR judged that Kimpembe had handled the ball and a penalty was awarded.

With 90 minutes on the clock, Rashford stepped up and smashed it home.

Ten minutes of added time followed, but United held on to clinch their place in the quarter-finals.
