Man Utd have no idea if Paul Pogba will board plane to Australia pre-season training camp

Manchester United are uncertain whether Paul Pogba will be on Sunday's flight to Australia for the club’s summer tour.

United officials admitted on Saturday night they don’t know where their £150million star is – and senior officials are sweating on whether the French World Cup winner will join up with the rest of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stars for the four-game, 18-day trip to Australia, Singapore and China.

United insist he’s scheduled to return on Sunday to travel out to Perth – but they haven’t spoken to the 26-year-old star since the end of the season.

While most of United’s players came back for fitness tests last week, the midfield star was given extra time off by Solskjaer after playing Euro 2020 qualifiers for France against Andorra and Turkey last month.

And the club’s top brass believe agent Mino Raiola’s transfer bombshell that Pogba wants to leave Old Trafford could be the opening salvo in a protracted transfer war.

The star was in New York last week for an adidas promotion.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made no secret of his desire to bring his fellow Frenchman to the Bernabeu.

And Juventus want to team up their former star with Cristiano Ronaldo .

But United insist Pogba isn’t for sale.

However, Raiola said: “Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what Paul’s feelings are.

“Everyone within the club – from the manager to the owners – knows Paul’s wishes.”

Last month Pogba announced on a promotional trip to Japan that "now could be a good time to find a new challenge somewhere else".

He was given permission to be absent for the start of pre-season training this week - as were Marcus Rashford and David De Gea - with Solskjaer taking into account Pogba's workload over the last 18 months which saw him win the World Cup with France last summer.
