Ander Herrera’s future at Manchester United has been in serious question, with the Spaniard’s contract up this summer and talks over a new deal at an impasse.
Club chiefs are keen for Herrera to remain and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke earlier this month of negotiations being “ongoing”.
But Herrera, who currently earns £80,000-a-week, wants a big hike in his wages.
The 29-year-old is understood to want more than double to remain at Old Trafford on a new three-year deal, with figures mooted in the region of £200,000-a-week.

The resolution of Herrera's future had looked set to be a summer switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
It had recently been widely reported that Herrera has verbally agreed to a deal with PSG, which will see him move to the Parc des Princes on July 1.
But now it’s claimed by Paris Team that the midfielder is yet to sign on the dotted line with the French champions, and that is drawing the ire of PSG sporting director Antero Henrique, who its claimed is “annoyed” with the lack of forward progress in recent weeks.
That lack of progress has come at a time that head coach Thomas Tuchel has been taking aim at those above him over the club’s lack of midfield options, having seen Adrien Rabiot frozen out.
In some recent Ligue 1 matches, Tuchel has been unable to name a full substitutes bench.
As such, PSG are said to be looking at other options, including Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka and Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl - a player Tuchel is a big fan of.
Seemingly, if Herrera continues dragging his feet, it could mean a move to France going away - and potentially, keep him at United.
