Man Utd great Rio Ferdinand predicts Champions League final four - and it's bad news for Man City

Rio Ferdinand has predicted the four teams he believes will make the semi-finals of the Champions League and it's good news for Manchester United .

The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday but Ferdinand insists that United can do the job on one condition.

Elsewhere, Ferdinand feels that Manchester City have too much of a mountain to climb following their 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Ferdinand also sees Liverpool and Juventus cruising past Porto and Ajax respectively when the second legs are played next week.

"Liverpool will go through and I think Spurs will progress after last night," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

"Juventus will go through and my heart says Manchester United will make the final four."

Asked by Gary Lineker whether his head was saying the same thing, Ferdinand responded: "It depends which (Lionel) Messi turns up."

Barcelona have the advantage from the first leg after an own goal by Luke Shaw but United travel to Spain for the second leg at the Camp Nou next Tuesday.
