Manchester United could reignite their interest in trying to sign Kieran Trippier after Borussia Dortmund made an approach for Diogo Dalot.
There are just three days left in the summer transfer window and it seems as though United could be busy right up until the deadline at 11pm on Tuesday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have already signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, as well as agreeing a sensational deal for Cristiano Ronaldo, over the window.
But the addition of a right-back has been on the cards for some time, with Solskjaer wanting competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the position.
United have therefore been pursuing a transfer for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier for much of the summer.
The club initially believed the England international could be available for around £10million, but they walked away from negotiations when Atleti stuck to their £28m valuation.
However, it appears the deal for the 30-year-old could be back on following developments involving Dalot.
According to Sky Sports , Dortmund are prepared to accept United's condition of a loan with an obligation to buy the Portuguese international, but the deal cannot proceed unless United find a replacement before the window closes.
United’s insistence on securing a £4.2m (€5m) loan fee for Dalot had previously scuppered the chances of him joining AC Milan on loan for another season.

Dalot had therefore looked set to stay with United for the 2021/22 campaign, having impressed Solskjaer during pre-season and in training.
But with a loan to Dortmund a distinct possibility, the prospect of signing Trippier has been reignited.
The Athletic reports that United have re-entered negotiations with Atletico Madrid for the former Tottenham defender, who is keen on a Premier League return after winning La Liga last season.
Trippier is from the Manchester area and was reportedly looking for houses earlier in the summer.
One piece of business that could aid United’s ability to sign Trippier is the sale of Jesse Lingard.
The 28-year-old midfielder is on the fringes of the first team at the moment, but could still move back to West Ham, where he scored nine goals in 16 appearances while on loan last season.
The Daily Star reports that the Hammers are preparing a £15m bid for Lingard, while Everton are also interested in launching a late offer for him.
