Man Utd given big injury boost as eight players poised to return against Watford

Manchester United 's top-four push is set to be handed a major boost with the return of a host of players from injury this weekend.

Caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hit with a glut of withdrawals from international duty, including Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

All five were forced to leave their respective international camps due to injury, but are likely to be fit and ready for United's Premier League clash at home to Watford on Saturday, although Lukaku may need more time to recover from a foot injury.

Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are also poised to return from injury, but Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined with a knee ligament problem, which is set to keep him out for a further three weeks.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer staff member quits Manchester United

Valencia, who is set to leave United as a free agent this summer after 10 years at Old Trafford, has not played for the Reds since a 2-0 win at Newcastle back on January 2.

He made his return to action for Ecuador in a 2-0 defeat to USA last Friday and will be available for selection this weekend, although is unlikely to make United's 18-man matchday squad.
