Man Utd get big injury boost ahead of Premier League clash with Wolves

Manchester United could have Aaron Wan-Bissaka fit for their clash with Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The right-back was absent for the Boxing Day draw at Leicester that saw the Red Devils twice surrender a lead.

Victor Lindelof was forced to fill in but he picked up a back problem and is set to be absent himself.

Young defender Azel Tuanzebe has been used across the backline despite not being a natural right-back.

It leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his options tested but he could have Wan-Bissaka available.

The 22-year-old was seen training at Carrington ahead of the game at the Theatre of Dreams and the United boss is optimistic about his chances.

“Victor didn’t train this morning [Monday] so we’ll give him 24 hours. He’s still getting treatment,” he said.

“Aaron trained with the boys. We didn’t do a lot because there was snow and it was just about preparation training anyway. If there’s no reaction he should be available.”

United will have to use all of their resources as they look to negotiate the busiest period of the season.

Solskjaer's side have to play three games in six days across the Christmas period with their third and final of those against Aston Villa on New Year's Day.

Before that though they take on a Wolves side who could be feeling the affects after a battling draw with Tottenham.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side were by far the better team and deservedly got a late equaliser at Molineux.

But they have had considerably less time to recover than their opponents with Solskjaer looking to take advantage of the fortuitous fixture list.

He said: “Of course, we’ve got about 30 hours more than Wolverhampton to recover so we have a slight advantage in that respect.

"And hopefully we can make use of those extra calories of energy we’ve got.”
