The Premier League table after Manchester United signed Bruno Fernandes in January shows the Red Devils at the summit and unbeaten.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United were in real danger of failing to qualify for the Champions League for a second consecutive season going into January.
With one last role of the dice, the Red Devils splashed out £67million on Portugal international Fernandes, in a bid to turn the tide.
And the former Sporting Lisbon star managed to do exactly that, with the club going on a tremendous unbeaten run to finish third in the Premier League - four points clear of fifth-place Leicester City.
According to Socanalysis, Fernandes made such an impact that if the season started on the day he signed, United would have finished top of the league on 32 points from 14 games.
The Red Devils' closest rivals would have been Manchester City, who picked up 30 points from their final 14 matches.
Champions Liverpool, meanwhile, who took their foot off the gas after wrapping up the title, would have finished third on 29 points.
Most impressively though, United were the only side to go unbeaten in their final 14 matches after Fernandes signed, with City losing four times and Liverpool three.
The strong end to the campaign bodes well for next season, where Solskjaer and co. will be looking to go one step further and compete for the title.
United needed to win or draw against Leicester City on the final day to confirm their place in the Champions League next season.
And the Red Devils got the job done, running out 2-0 winners over the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.
Fernandes opened the scoring for United from the penalty spot, before Jesse Lingard capitalised on a mistake in stoppage time to put the game to bed.
