Man Utd fear missing out on Harry Kane transfer but receive Victor Osimhen boost

Manchester United fear they are facing a losing battle to land Harry Kane this summer.

But their striking options could yet be boosted as Napoli forward Victor Osimhen favours a move to the Premier League over interest from Paris Saint Germain. England captain Kane, 29, has been United’s No1 transfer target but Tottenham are determined to fight to keep their club record goalscorer even though he only has a year left on his current deal.

‌Kane is unlikely to sign a new deal which means Tottenham run the risk of losing him for nothing next year but Spurs still believe they can play on his loyalty and persuade him to stay.

Tottenham striker Kane has also dropped hints in recent interviews about staying and trying to win the Europa Conference League and breaking more records. It means there is a growing feeling that Kane could end up staying at least another year which means United will have to look elsewhere.

Mirror Sport revealed this week they have been looking at Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos but Napoli striker Osimhen is also firmly on their radar. PSG have also been after Osimhen and Napoli are bracing themselves for huge bids this summer and the 24-year-old does favour a move to England if he leaves Serie A.

That could give United fresh hope of signing a top class striker even if they end up missing out on Kane this summer.

‌Kane is already Tottenham’s all time record scorer but, with 209 Premier League goals, he is still 51 goals behind Alan Shearer and that is his next target and also the reason why a move abroad is unlikely to appeal.

United see Kane as the ideal centre forward to build on Erik ten Hag’s progress and will certainly not give up as they plot to try and lure him away.

‌But there is a feeling that it will be very tough to get him and may have to make other plans while Kane knows that Tottenham resisted Manchester City ’s attempts to sign him two years ago despite his desire to leave.
