Man Utd fans' worrying theory behind David De Gea's Wolves horror show

Manchester United fans have slammed goalkeeper David De Gea after his horror show at Wolves dealt their Premier League top four hopes a major boost.

De Gea failed to deal with a loose ball in the box as a mix-up with Chris Smalling saw the defender bundle the ball into his own net.

It came after his wayward pass into the feet of Fred saw him dispossessed in the build up to the Wolves opener, which levelled the scores after Scott McTominay's early opener.

Supporter slammed the Spaniard, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, after his costly errors.

With the 28-year-old still yet to agree a new big-money contract extension, fans reckon he has his mind elsewhere with some believing the time is right to cut ties with the stopper.

He was slammed for being "all over the place" and one fan simply stated "David De Gea wants to leave" whilst others questioned his reported demands of £480k per week for a new deal.

Another fan said: "De Gea shows no interest in this game. His mind is set on something else. No commitment."

"You can be certain De Gea has his mind set on a leave at the end of the season," one Reds follower claimed. "Obviously he won't underperform on purpose, but historically speaking the only times his performances dip is when he is close to move away."

Their Molineux defeat means the Reds are 5th in the Premier League table, two points behind Arsenal in third and level with fourth placed Tottenham but having played a game more.

They return to action in the Champions League against Barcelona next Wednesday before a home game with West Ham a week on Saturday, April 12 (17:30).
