Man Utd fans think club took dig at Angel Di Maria after Champions League win

Manchester United fans think the club took a dig at Angel di Maria after their Champions League win.

The Red Devils got their European campaign off to a strong start by beating PSG 2-1 at the Parc des Princes.

They managed to keep £400m of taken quiet in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the French side needed an own goal from Anthony Martial to get on the board.

PSG’s front three also included Di Maria, who spent a year at Old Trafford before moving to Paris in 2015.

And United featured their former player in an Instagram post after the game last night.

In the snap, David de Gea - who made four big saves during the Champions League clash - is pushing the ball away from the Argentine’s feet.

Accompanying the photo, they write: “Big players step up in the big moments.”

But the United faithful believe the message was actually aimed at PSG’s No.11.

“Wow, the admin are dissing Di Maria,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Big shade being thrown here.”

While a third wrote: “Don’t know if that’s a dig on Di Maria or an appreciation of David de Gea’s performance.”

And a fourth added: “Low-kwy shot at Di Maria too.”

A fifth suggested what they preferred, with: “Hopefully this is a dig at Di Maria.”

With a sixth simply writing: “Shots fired.”

It comes as David de Gea praised one team-mate for being “unbelievable” in the Champions League win.

"He has been unbelievable today," The Spaniard said of defender Axel Tuanzebe to MUTV.

"He played against two of the best players in the world in Neymar and Mbappe so he did really, really well. I am really happy for him.

"He has been in difficult moments with the injuries but now he has shown today that he is capable of playing in big games."
