Man Utd fans tear into Paul Pogba for what he did in build-up to Cardiff goal

Paul Pogba has been slaughtered by Manchester United fans on social media for his defending in the build-up to Cardiff City's second goal.

The France international was tasked with marking Josh Murphy, but allowed the midfielder to sprint past him and latch onto a throw.

After making his way in the box, Murphy then fired the ball across goal and into the path of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who slotted home his second.

Pogba all the while simply stood still and watched the action pass him by.

Red Devils supporters reacted angrily on Twitter with many hitting out at the perceived "laziness" of the £89million man.

"Right. I despise the toxicity that is Paul Pogba," wrote on fan. This is why. Look at how he single-handedly causes this goal.

"Let's his man run past him, then has the arrogance to walk back, then stand and watch. Get out the club."

Another added: "That's some pathetic defending from United - Pogba just watched his man run from him."

A third wrote: "Look at Pogba not tracking his man," and a fourth concluded: "Pogba has jacked it in. He needs to go. But so does [Ed] Woodward and so too Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] I'm afraid."
