Manchester United fans continued their renewed campaign to oust the Glazers with a plane protest at Elland Road.
Over 1,000 fans gathered outside Old Trafford on Saturday, calling for the club’s American owners to go because of their role in the aborted European Super League.
And supporters paid for a light aircraft to trail a banner over Elland Road at the start of their match against Leeds, saying '2bn stolen – Glazers out'.
United’s part in the hugely-controversial breakaway plan has rekindled fans’ opposition to the Glazers and they are determined to drive them out following Ed Woodward’s resignation this week.
A small group also got into their Carrington training ground on Thursday and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met them to placate them.
Feared action by Leeds fans against United in this first clash between the fierce rivals at Elland Road for a decade failed to materialise.
Police were out in force to ensure there was no repeat of Monday’s scenes when some Leeds fans tried to target the Liverpool coach.
One young Leeds supporter kicked the Whites coach, mistakenly thinking it was the Red Devils one.
Leeds fans did erect a banner with an open letter to the FA, calling on them to punish the Reds and the other ‘Greedy Six’, as they called them, for attempting to form the ESL.
Leeds managing director Angus Kinnear savaged the ESL proposal in his programme notes and said “it would be naïve to think the threat has been extinguished”.
