Man Utd fans slam substitutes for 'laughing on the bench' during Wolves loss

Manchester United supporters were left fuming with substitutes Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo after the pair were spotted seemingly laughing as the Red Devils went down 2-1 to Wolves on Tuesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side let a 1-0 lead slip on Tuesday night as they suffered a huge blow in their battle to finish in the Premier League's top four.

Scott McTominay had given United the lead with a fine strike from the edge of the box just 13 minutes into the game - the Scotland international's first goal for the club.

But the game turned after Diogo Jota equalised for the hosts in the first half, and Ashley Young was sent off for the visitors early in the second period.

Chris Smalling then put through his own net under pressure from Leander Dendoncker to ensure Wolves were given a huge boost ahead of their FA Cup semi-final against Watford on Sunday.

And angry United fans were left fuming when, in a camera shot of Solskjaer in stoppage-time, unused substitutes Romero and Rojo were spotted in a jovial exchange.

Supporters on Twitter hit out at the Argentinean pair.

Defender Rojo has been widely tipped to leave United this summer, while backup goalkeeper Romero could also find himself surplus to requirements.
