Man Utd fans react as David de Gea 'drops transfer hint' with Sergio Ramos tweet

David de Gea has apparently dropped a hint over his future, according to some worried Manchester United fans.

The Spanish shot-stopper has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and is yet to agree terms on a new deal to remain at Manchester United for the long-term.

The Red Devils recently triggered the one-year extension clause in his contract, meaning he is tied down to the club until June 2020.

But United may be considering the option of selling De Gea this summer so as to ensure they get a transfer fee for him, in case he decides to leave on a free next season.

One club that has been linked with the Spaniard for a while now - and who very nearly signed him once upon a time - is Real Madrid.

Los Blancos were hellbent on landing the Spain international, but after a few failed attempts signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea instead.

The Belgium international hasn't been world class since his move, and speculation linking De Gea to Real Madrid hasn't died down.

And now Manchester United fans are convinced De Gea himself is ramping things up by dropping a hint on social media.

De Gea took to Twitter to post a picture of himself hugging Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos. Alongside the image he wrote: "Did you miss me?"

Responding to the post, one Man United fan replied: "Maybe he's hugging you because you told [him] you gone (sic) be in Madrid this summer."

Another added: "Are you trying to tell us you are leaving?,' and a third concluded: "I don't feel comfortable seeing Ramos hugging De Gea."
