Man Utd fans loved Sir Alex Ferguson's reaction to Gary Neville miss in Treble reunion

Gary Neville scored seven goals during his Manchester United career - and could have had as many in his run out in United's 5-0 drubbing of Bayern Munich in the Treble reunion game.

The right-back defied his years to bomb forward throughout the re-run of the 1999 Champions League final and caught the eye alongside Paul Scholes and David Beckham.

The latter scored United's fifth, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham and Nicky Butt all registered.

Neville might have got his goal had Beckham squared the ball for an open net, and former club captain Neville joked afterwards that Beckham had been selfish.

It came after Neville's 57th-minute effort that saw the former England man blast narrowly wide from the angle in the six-yard box, which left Sir Alex Ferguson with his head on his hands.

And United fans on Twitter loved Neville's attempts - albeit in vain.

'Same old same old'

It was worth an effort

He wasn't impressed
