Man Utd fans hijack Memphis Depay's Instagram post with transfer target

Memphis Depay's holiday Instagram post was quickly taken over by Manchester United fans- due to the fact he was posing with Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

United have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old sensation this summer, and despite the fact the likelihood of a deal appears to be fading fast, that didn't stop fans from asking their ex-player Depay to do them a favour.

The two players are together in Los Angeles, and the caption along with the picture read: "Out in LA with my Young King Sancho", along with two crown emojis.

One supporter responded by posting "Tell him to come to united", while another said "Come to United, both of u."

Another added "Better be telling him to join united", while one supporter wrote "Imagine these two on opposite wings."

It is no secret that United are looking to bring bright young British talent to the club, with Daniel James having already signed from Swansea and Aaron Wan-Bissaka's move from Crystal Palace nearing completion.

Sancho would therefore fit the bill, but it is unlikely United would be willing to pay the asking price, with Dortmund likely to demand a fee nearing £100m for the player they signed for just £7m from Manchester City in 2017.

It is also up for debate whether Sancho would want the move at this stage in his career, especially as United are currently unable to offer Champions League football, unlike Dortmund, who finished second in the Bundesliga last season.

Meanwhile Depay, now at Lyon, had a brief spell at United between 2015-2017 but generally disappointed.

Since then, however, he has resurrected his career, and has become an important first-team player for both Lyon and Netherlands.

He has been linked with a transfer to the likes of Liverpool this summer, and appears to be seeking a move away from France.
