Man Utd fans have the same David De Gea demand after cryptic tweet

Manchester United supporters have urged David De Gea to commit his future to the club after posting a tweet detailing his seeming intention to 'focus on the essentials'.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has been in protracted talks with United over a new deal but an agreement has still to be reached, with De Gea intent on ensuring his chances of winning the Champions League. The Spaniard is also said to be seeking parity with United's top-earner Alexis Sanchez.

United risk losing De Gea on a free transfer at the end of next season should he enter the final six months of his contract in January. The Reds have experienced similar issues with Ander Herrera and Juan Mata this season, with the former in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain.

De Gea has won every trophy available to him during his eight-year spell at Old Trafford - with the exception of the Champions League - and United fans on Twitter are keen for the no.1 to extend his stay.
