Man Utd fans furious as MUTV farce leaves them unable to watch pre-season fixture vs Derby

Manchester United supporters are demanding their money back after streaming issues plagued MUTV's broadcast of the clash with Derby County.

The Red Devils travelled to Pride Park for a pre-season friendly on Sunday afternoon and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielded a strong team littered with experienced players and exciting prospects.

Tahith Chong gave the visitors the lead in the first half and the likes of Juan Mata, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Greenwood were on show.

But many fans missed the 18th-minute goal and the rest of the action due to crippling issues with United's streaming service which was supposed to be broadcasting the match to subscribers.

One supporter sarcastically declared: "Managed to watch a total of 5 minutes in that first half, mutv well worth the money."

Another bluntly announced: "My club is a joke. You subscribe to MUTV, and the useless f*****s can't even sort out their stream for a pre-season friendly (one of the biggest live matches they get to show during a season). Absolute joke."

A monthly pass for MUTV costs £7.99 and an annual pass will set back supporters £29.99 each.

One fan described their experience as "daylight robbery" and another urged those responsible for the stream to "get a grip".

For those who did see the first period, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer declared at the break: "It’s good exercise. It’s a proper game, they should enjoy it. He [Chong] did well to win the ball, he’s got some talent."

The Red Devils boss also commented on the 30-degree heat, adding: "It's a hot day for football. It was the first 45 minutes for these players and you can see they struggled to put the pace up, it's difficult in this heat."

Solskjaer made nine changes at half-time, with centre-backs Axel Tuanzebe and Teden Mengi the only players to stay on.
