Man Utd fans decide who they want to win Premier League - and it's a landslide

As the title race continues to swing between red and blue, 64 per cent of Manchester United fans hope cross-city rivals Manchester City lifted the Premier League than Liverpool.

To emphasise just how deep the hatred runs, 20 per cent of United fans said they'd prefer to see their team relegated than watch Jurgen Klopp's men hold the trophy aloft.

However, it is the Merseysiders who currently sit atop the table, leading City by two points - albeit having played a game more.

The other 18 Premier League clubs were also surveyed by bookies Paddy Power, and Liverpool fans may be relieved to know that fans of each of their remaining opponents want them to win the league.

In fact, only fans of United, Everton, Chelsea and Southampton favour Pep Guardiola’s City, with Burnley fans sitting uniquely on a 50/50 split.

The strongest swing is that of Huddersfield Town fans, 75 per cent of which have said they would rather the trophy went to Liverpool, an even bigger margin than the 67 per cent of Everton fans who are unsurprisingly backing City.

Liverpool have not won the league since 1990, and fellow ‘big six’ sides Spurs and Arsenal have narrowly fallen in favour of the Reds ending their 29-year wait.

And across the UK, fans outside England also want to see an Anfield victory parade.

A convincing 60 per cent of those in Cardiff are supporting Liverpool, with 59 per cent in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and 57per cent in Belfast also cheering on the Merseyside club.

It is not entirely doom and gloom for City though, as younger fans are backing blue.

In the survey 65 pert cent of 16-24s and 54 per cent of 25-34s would rather see Manchester City win their third title in seven years; however 56 per cent of over 55s want to see the trophy adorned in red ribbons for the first time in almost three decades.
