Man Utd fan 'kicked out of Old Trafford for aiming racist abuse at Trent Alexander-Arnold'

A Manchester United fan was reportedly ejected from Old Trafford for labelling Trent Alexander-Arnold a "f****** black c***" during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool .

It is alleged that Alexander-Arnold targeted with racial abuse during the first half from a supporter close to the players' executive boxes in the Stretford End.

The alleged incident is said to have caused fury amongst nearby supporters as security guards stepped in to remove the offender from the stadium.

United acted swiftly and an investigation has been launched, which is said to be a "matter of priority".

A range of options are available including indefinite bans form the ground or involving the police in the matter.

"Racism and all forms of discrimination are completely unacceptable and do not reflect the values of our club."

The incident comes after dark week for the sport which coincided with the launch of the Premier League's new No Room for Racism campaign.

After England players were targeted in Bulgaria in midweek, an FA Cup fourth qualifying round game between Haringey Borough and Yeovil was abandoned on Saturday after Haringey players walked off in protest of alleged racial abuse.

Hearts and Bristol City are also both investigating reports of racial abuse from their matches over the weekend.

Scottish Premiership side Hearts are looking into claims that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was racially abused during Sunday's draw at Tynecastle.

Bristol City, meanwhile, are also responding to reports that language of a racist nature was used by their fans at Luton Town during Saturday's match.
