Man Utd face Tahith Chong battle as Juventus 'eye teenager on free transfer'

Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong.

Chong, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and talks over a new deal have so far stalled.

The Dutchman has made a handful of first-team appearances so far this term but was not involved against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup this week.

He is free to talk to foreign clubs as early as January and was watched by Juventus scouts in action for United's Under-23s last week.

The Mail reports the Italian champions are interested, among a host of other European clubs, and could repeat their free transfer swoop of Paul Pogba in 2012.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful Chong will extend his stay at Old Trafford having handed the teenager his debut last season.

He also threw him on in the Champions League success over PSG.

But while the likes of Brandon Williams and James Garner were involved against Chelsea, Chong played in the Leasing.com Trophy 24 hours earlier.

On his first-team place, Chong said recently: "It’s all a learning experience and I’m really enjoying it.

"Training is a different level as well now. Definitely, the training and the games are tougher, stuff like that, as you progress.

"But you keep training and keep playing games and you'll get there. You start getting used to the tempo to the game and, like I've said, it's been a good experience for us."
