Manchester United have their eye on two Inter Milan stars to help the Serie A club clear their alleged debt.
According to reports from Italy, Inter missed a payment for Romelu Lukaku, which has triggered a clause that puts the Serie A giants in €50million worth of debt to Manchester United.
Inter signed Lukaku for €80m in 2019 and agreed to pay the staggering fee in installments.
Inter had been keeping up to date with their payments, but Corriere dello Sport claims the Italian club are struggling financially amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result Inter reportedly recently missed a payment, meaning they are now in £43m worth of debt to Man United.
The obvious solution would be for Inter to pay the amount owed to the Red Devils, but as aforementioned, the Italian club haven't got cash to splash at the moment.
It is claimed they have even had to delay part of a payment to Real Madrid for Achraf Hakimi things have become so bad.
Another solution is selling players to help pay of the debt, and Manchester United have their eye on two individuals.
The first is 26-year-old defender Milan Skriniar, who would fix the Red Devils' centre-back problem in a heartbeat.
United are in the market for a new defender to partner Harry Maguire next season, but have been quoted between £60m and £70m for Jules Kounde and Raphael Varane respectively. Skriniar may be available for much less.
The other player who has caught Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's eye is Lautaro Martinez.
The Red Devils are short of a quality striker and Edinson Cavani is yet to agree another year at Old Trafford.
Martinez is on the radar of every top club in Europe, but Inter's alleged debt to United may just give the Red Devils the upper hand.
United would likely have to pay an additional fee to sign the forward, but the amount leaving the Old Trafford bank account would be considerably less on account of the debt.
