Paul Pogba has remained in Manchester to undergo treatment on an injury but will join up with his teammates in Dubai early next week.

The Manchester United midfielder missed Saturday’s FA Cup third round victory over Reading with a knock suffered in the midweek win over Newcastle United – the result of an ugly challenge from Jonjo Shelvey.

Interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken to the squad to Dubai for a warm weather training camp ahead of next Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Tottenham.

Pogba was notable by his absence as the United squad set off on Sunday morning but the club have issued a brief statement reassuring supporters the France international will soon join up with his teammates to prepare for that crucial match at Wembley.

“Paul Pogba has not completely recovered from the knock he sustained against Newcastle and stayed back for treatment, but he will join his Manchester United team-mates in Dubai soon in preparation for the Tottenham game.”

United made it five wins under five under Solskjaer but the Norwegian admits Sunday's match will be his first "proper test."
