Manchester United return to the Europa League after failing to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League last term.
Despite a decent run to the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, United must compete in Europe's secondary club competition after two years away.
Their last taste of Europa League football ended in glory in Stockholm just over two years ago. Jose Mourinho's men failed to win their group but advanced as runners-up and went on to beat Ajax 2-0 in the final.
Their return to the Europa League this season is not necessarily a welcome one, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will view the competition as another avenue back into the Champions League, with the winners again due to earn a spot at the big table with Europe's elite.
Speaking in pre-season, Solskjaer said: "We see Europa League as a great opportunity to both give youngsters playing time but also it's a chance to win a trophy."
"We're going to go all out to try to win it because it's a big trophy."
