Man Utd ejected fan from Old Trafford for alleged racial abuse at Liverpool match

Manchester United have confirmed a fan was ejected from Sunday’s draw with Liverpool over alleged racial abuse.

The club are investigating the incident, which took place in the home section, and police have been informed.

It’s understood a potential punishment could be an indefinite ban from Old Trafford.

A Man Utd spokesperson said the matter was being treated as a priority.

“We are aware of an incident at yesterday's game where an individual in the home section has allegedly engaged in racial abuse,” said the spokesperson.

"The individual was identified and ejected from the stadium. We are currently investigating the matter as a priority.

"Racism and all forms of discrimination are completely unacceptable and do not reflect the values of our club."

The game ended in a 1-1 draw after Marcus Rashford fires United into a first half lead.

Substitute Adam Lallana secured a late equaliser for Premier League leaders Liverpool.
