Man Utd 'discuss second transfer with Juventus' during Paulo Dybala negotiations

Manchester United and Juventus reportedly held talks over the separate transfer of Mario Mandzukic during the Paulo Dybala discussions.

The clubs are locked in negotiations over a potential swap deal involving Dybala and United frontman Romelu Lukaku .

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is in Manchester working on the terms of a transfer with United chiefs.

However it is not the only point of discussion, with a deal for Mandzukic also in the pipeline - according to Football Italia .

Mandzukic only penned a new deal at the Old Lady in April, but is thought to favour a move elsewhere to increase his chances of playing time.

It is believed Lukaku has already agreed personal terms with Juve, worth over £8 million per year, but Dybala is still yet to make a decision on his future, which is holding up the move.

The Argentinian was due to sit down with manager Maurizio Sarri after training on Thursday, but has been given extended leave by the club until August 5.

Dybala is reportedly set to meet with Sarri on Friday however, with the club keen to come to a conclusion so they can move forward.

Should a swap deal involving both players be completed, it would leave United short of a target man in attack.

Lukaku has often operated in that role at Old Trafford, with Solskjaer now thought to be considering Mandzukic as an option.

At 33-years-old, a deal for the Croatian is not likely to break the bank, which appeals to United, as they remain focused on using the baulk of their transfer kitty on other targets.

The Red Devils are hopeful of getting a deal over the line for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes before next week's deadline, with the 24-year-old set to play his final match for his current side on Sunday.

United are also closing in on a £9 million deal for 16-year-old Monaco wonderkid Hannibal Mejbri.
