Man Utd contact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacement, Liverpool will now move for £108m wonderkid and Tottenham's secret weapon in chase for £18m Wales star

Here are the latest transfer news and rumours on the morning of October 6.

Man Utd sound out Poch

Manchester United have reportedly sounded out Mauricio Pochettino over succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if results do not improve at Old Trafford.

United have started this Premier League season woefully, their most recent outing being a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

And now transfer deadline day has passed, many United fans feel underwhelmed by the club's activity, having not really addressed problem areas such as wing or centre back.

But, according to the Daily Star, former Spurs boss Pochettino has been contacted by senior officials over the prospect of taking the reins at Old Trafford if results do not improve.

Sancho could now go to Liverpool

Liverpool will reportedly move to sign Jadon Sancho next summer after the England international's move to Manchester United failed to come to fruition.

United and Borussia Dortmund were way off their valuations all summer, it would seem, with the German outfit hellbent on holding out for £108m from the Premier League giants.

However, that never quite happened.

Now, though, according to The Independent, there is a growing sense that Sancho will move to Liverpool next summer, with Jurgen Klopp thought to be extremely interested in a cut-price deal.

Spurs boosted in Rodon pursuit

Tottenham Hotspur will be boosted in their pursuit of Wales and Swansea City star owing to a key backroom figure.

Spurs are interested in signing Rodon, who Swansea value at between £18m and £20m, and have until October 16 to do so given the domestic-only window extension.

Reports surfaced on deadline day, though, that Spurs would be unwilling to fork out more than £7m for the 22-year-old Wales international, which many Swans fans baulked at.

But Spurs' secret weapon comes in the form of Trevor Birch, the club's director of football.

Birch, of course, knows the Swansea board inside out, having been chairman between April 2019 and September 2020 and will likely know what the Swans' absolute basement price is for Rodon.

Sergio Romero's wife blasts Man Utd over blocked transfer

Sergio Romero’s wife has slammed Manchester United for their treatment of the goalkeeper after he was unable to seal a move away.

Romero has fallen down the pecking order after Dean Henderson returned from his Sheffield United loan to provide competition for David de Gea between the sticks.

Romero was subsequently linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton but a never materialised.

And the Argentine's wife, Eliana Guercio, has blasted the club for failing to afford him an opportunity to play elsewhere in a brutally honest social media post.

Romero’s wife wrote on Instagram : “Sergio Romero worked hard for his club. Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him.

“He helped the team reach four finals/semifinals and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all.

“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go.

“RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!”

West Ham star's move to be confirmed today

Felipe Anderson's season-long move to Porto is set to be confirmed today, according to reports.

The Portuguese window does not close for another three weeks, but Sky Sports report that the deal will be announced today.

West Ham broke their transfer record in 2018 when they signed Anderson for £42m from Lazio, but he failed to live up to the heights he hit in Italy at the London Stadium.

He has another two years left to run on his current contract in East London.
