Man Utd considering four Jadon Sancho alternatives as transfer deadline nears

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for one of Ousmane Dembele, Ismaila Sarr, Luka Jovic or Edinson Cavani if they cannot finalise a deal for Jadon Sancho.

With the transfer window closing on Monday, it has reached desperation time for United, with their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting they need another attacking threat if they are to compete for major honours this season.

Sancho has been their No.1 target all summer, but Dortmund still appear unwilling to negotiate a price less than their £108m valuation of the England international.

And according to Sky Sports United have now been left with no other choice but to consider other last-minute options, with the clock ticking before the October 5 deadline.

Barcelona's Dembele is one who they are strongly considering, with the La Liga giants known to be open to selling the French forward.

But the 23-year-old's wage demands may be an issue, with Barcelona insisting they will require United pay his full £215,000-a-week salary.

Ismaila Sarr of Watford may be a more realistic option, with the player thought to be available at around £40m.

Jovic, meanwhile, has been a huge disappointment at Real Madrid since he joined from Benfica last summer, and he may relish the opportunity to resurrect his career at Old Trafford.

And one final, perhaps slightly shorter-term option, is that of Edinson Cavani, who is a free agent after being released by PSG.

Although the Uruguayan would offer plenty of winning experience, at 33-years-old he is past his best, and it could be considered something of a risk asking him to deliver at Premier League level at his age.

Whatever happens, it is set to be a busy few days at United as they scramble to get a deal or two done before Monday in a squad that they know is in desperate need of strengthening.
