Man Utd are reportedly considering sending Eric Bailly out on loan amid interest from Valencia.
The Ivorian defender had to endure a lengthy layoff due to injury this season but returned to action in February with an impressive performance against Chelsea.
Bailly is not first choice at Old Trafford though, with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire the preferred centre-half pairing.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen for Bailly to get regular minutes, and The Sun report he is open to sending the player out on a temporary deal.
Valencia are hopeful of securing the services of the ex-Villarreal man, but United would demand at least half of his £150,000-per-week wages.
United are not thought to be looking to sell Bailly, who they feel can be a good asset in seasons to come.
However they could be open to a permanent switch if potential suitors make an offer close to the £30million they paid Villarreal in 2016.
That seems unlikely in the current economic climate, but a loan switch could be on the cards.
Solskjaer already has Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe as back-up to his starting XI, while the future of on-loan star Chris Smalling remains uncertain.
The United boss has still been urged to add reinforcements to his defence, with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly described as a "perfect fit".
Former United striker Dwight Yorke told Stadium Astro : "Without a doubt I think he [Koulibaly]'s one that everyone is after and if United are going to make some big signings like they always do, I would definitely [sign him], if we can afford him then why not?
"I think he is the perfect fit to come into centre-half alongside Maguire, that would be awesome to have him there and suddenly we look a proper team then, with the likes of [Paul] Pogba and Bruno [Fernandes] and one of the holding midfielders and the front three forwards.
"We become a team who suddenly everybody will be fearing.
"The Italian league for me used to be the top league, it's very difficult. But certainly with everyone after him, what he's done in the Italian league so far he is a name everyone is after."
