Manchester United have confirmed the signings of Charlie McNeill and Alejandro Garnacho.
The two teenage forwards have put pen to paper with the Red Devils to join their youth setup from Manchester City and Atletico Madrid respectively.
McNeill, 17, has built up a reputation as a prolific goalscorer with local rivals Manchester City after scoring over 600 goals for the club.
Garnacho, meanwhile, arrives after Atletico Madrid were unable to convince on of their prized academy prospects to stay as United won the race for his signature.
The club have unveiled the duo as their latest new academy signings after already welcoming a host of young players this summer.
Garnacho becomes the third recent import from Spain after full-backs Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez joined from Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
McNeill joins fellow England youth international Logan Pye, who signed from Sunderland alongside Joe Hugill earlier this summer.
PA reported last month hat United were set to pay an initial fee of just under £750,000 for McNeill, potentially rising to £1.35million with add-on clauses based on his progress.
He has been won over by the first-team pathway at Old Trafford and will now aim to become their latest local star.
United fan McNeill scored a staggering 100 goals and contributed 38 assists in just 72 matches for City’s Under-15s before moving into the Under-18s side.
He left the club at the end of last season having been unable to agree an extension but the clubs are believed to have thrashed out a deal without needing a tribunal as he had not turned 17 when he left.
When he departed the club, McNeil wrote on Instagram : “Massive thank you to @mancity for everything over the past 6 years.
“It's been such a pleasure to play with some amazing players and made some amazing friends to [sic]. Thanks to all the staff and players for helping me develop as a player and also as a person. I wish everyone the very best, thank you.”
Garnacho, who can play on both wings, is ready to begin training with his new club after completing his self-isolation period after arriving from Spain.
