Manchester United have confirmed a deal for Daniel James has been agreed.

The Swansea winger successfully completed him medical at Carrington on Thursday ahead, with just formalities now to be completed before he becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing at Old Trafford.

A full announcement is expected next week after he returns from international duty with Wales.

United have not confirmed the initial fee, which is believed to be between £15-18m - and could rise to £22m with add-ons.

James travelled to Carrington on Thursday before flying out from Liverpool airport to join up with Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad.

The 21-year-old is expected to be the first of as many as five signings this summer as Solskaer plans to overhaul his squad.

The United manager has told executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to focus on emerging British talent, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sean Longstaff on his radar.

The Norwegian also hoped to sign Jadon Sancho - but has reluctantly accepted the Borussia Dortmund winger may be out of reach for at least another 12 months.
