Manchester United have confirmed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will wear numbers 21 and 29 respectively next season.

Wales international James takes the squad number vacated by Ander Herrera, who left the club this summer after failing to agree a new contract.

Wan-Bissaka meanwhile takes the number used by United’s last signing from Crystal Palace in Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha picked up the no.29 shirt after his arrival at Old Trafford in 2013.

It is the same squad number Wan-Bissaka has used since breaking into the Palace first-team in February 2018.

The right-back completed a £50m move to United on Saturday, signing a four-year deal with the option of a further year.

"Every kid wants to play for a team like this," the England Under-21 international said.

"I am grateful and it is an honour to represent this club. I think I will improve every step and learn different things around new team-mates.

"I think Man United is a big club, a big family, a big fan base, and I think they all stick together and are so tight together.”
