Man Utd can break Premier League record against Aston Villa

Manchester United have records in their sights when they head to Aston Villa on Thursday night.

The Red Devils are in the midst of a 16 game unbeaten run in all competitions and are targeting the Champions League.

They, Chelsea and Leicester look to be the three fighting it out for a place at Europe's top table.

United are the ones in form having picked up 10 points from a possible 12 since the Premier League's resumption.

Since drawing with Tottenham in June Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have seen off Sheffield United, Brighton and Bournemouth.

They've scored a combined 11 goals in their last three outings.

And should they win by three or more goals at Villa Park they will set a Premier League record for consecutive wins by at least three goals.

Sheffield United and Brighton were cast aside 3-0 before they beat Bournemouth 5-2.

Villa Park has been a happy hunting ground for the Red Devils who are on a 20 match unbeaten streak at the ground.

The home side's last victory over United was on the opening day of the 1995/96 season.

Everything points towards a win for the visitors who have turned a corner since January, with the arrival of Bruno Fernandes crucial.

United's front three have also been prolific in recent weeks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warning their rivals about how they can still get better.

He said: "They will improve and we’ve seen they have improved a lot this season, all three of them, in different parts of their game.

"Marcus (Rashford) is on course to [achieve] his best season and Anthony (Martial) is the same but they can and will still improve.

"They know there’s things I want them to improve and we will keep on working. It's Mason (Greenwood)’s first season but we’ve always known there’s a special kid there."
