Man Utd board 'send Alexis Sanchez warning' to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are refusing to give up on Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean has had a frustrating spell at Old Trafford following his transfer from Arsenal in January 2018.

Sanchez is comfortably United's highest-earner and there have been suggestions he could move on this summer if any interested parties make a move.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have concerns about Sanchez's form and position within his squad with the 30-year-old often overlooked since his arrival.

But the Evening Standard reports the United board have told Solskjaer that Sanchez will be going nowhere this summer.

They expect the Norwegian, if he is to stay on at Old Trafford, to get the best out of the former Barcelona forward.

It is claimed even other potential candidates for the United job have asked questions about Sanchez.

He is currently sidelined with a knee problem and it had been feared that he may not play again this season.

But Sanchez is expected to be back in full training in the next month in a boost to Solskjaer's options.

United are into the last eight of the Champions League and have a great chance of finishing in the top four.

Solskjaer has been boosted by the return to fitness of a host of players ahead of this weekend's clash with Watford .
